Step into Bar Urbane in Launceston, and you're instantly transported to a hidden bar of the 1920s. Inspired by the secretive charm of Prohibition Era speakeasies, Prime Design, led by Tahleah Hoyle, crafted an exclusive sanctuary that blends mystery, elegance, and allure.
The design brief focused on evoking feelings of luxury and exclusivity. Dimmed lighting, acoustic panelling, and soft furnishings create a serene ambiance, while bold green, orange, and brass tones interplay with monochromatic elements in tiles, joinery, and bar furniture. Every element was meticulously layered to ensure that opulence reigned supreme, embracing the idea that "too much" was never a concern.
Central to the space is the flooring, with Bellmore Herringbone from the Luxe Collection playing a pivotal role. Its rich finish and deep colour perfectly complemented the bar's sophisticated aesthetic. Not only did the herringbone pattern enhance the luxurious atmosphere, but it also met stringent technical requirements for a class 6 building, including compliance with slip rating and radiant flux standards. An additional sealant was applied to ensure durability in the bustling commercial environment.
Bar Urbane stands as a testament to sophisticated design, where each detail contributes to a refined and exclusive experience, transporting patrons to an era of timeless elegance.
