Tucked away in the heart of New South Wales' famed Hunter Valley, Harkham Restaurant & Bar emerges as an exquisite extension of Harkham, the renowned boutique vineyard celebrated for its minimal-intervention, preservative-free wines.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Broken Back Range, this new dining destination is a masterclass in refined yet relaxed luxury, seamlessly integrating exceptional food, award-winning wines, and a design ethos that speaks to both authenticity and sophistication.
Designed by Jessica Enander Dunne, the restaurant embodies an inviting warmth, where every detail has been meticulously curated to reflect the surrounding landscape and the vineyard’s philosophy of unpretentious excellence.
Spanning an expansive 180-seat open-plan layout, the space flows effortlessly from the vibrant bar to the main dining area, a secluded private dining room, and the cellar door. Towering floor-to-ceiling windows frame uninterrupted views of rolling vineyards, fostering an immersive dining experience that blurs the boundaries between indoors and nature.
A carefully considered palette of earthy hues, raw textures, and natural materials underscores the restaurant’s ethos. Timber takes center stage, grounding the design in warmth and tactility. The choice of Auburn plank timber flooring from Havwoods’ V Collection is particularly noteworthy.
