Nandos, the most famous eatery to emerge from South Africa, brief their designers to create vibrant and interesting spaces, complete with visual links to Nando’s geographical roots. This mean that the design of each Nando’s restaurant takes patrons on an adventurous journey – and challenges the designers creativity to come up with something rebellious, authentic and in the spirit of the brand's heritage. It must feel real and natural, not plastic and transient. The goal is for people to wander around and explore all the thoughtful details that inspire and delight, giving the space life and soul. 

Nando’s collaborates with local African crafters and artists curating distinctive pieces to tell the story of the Afro-Portuguese origin. This store, located in Westfield Penrith and designed by Design Clarity, answered the brief through the use of real, natural products in a space full of thoughtful details. The use of natural timbers throughout the space was key and Havwoods Chocolate from the Europlank Collection was chosen for the timber flooring to provide warmth and texture to the authentic atmosphere of creative energy and passion.
