Situated in a cul-de-sac in the heart of Notting Hill, Clanricarde Gardens is a striking two-bedroom apartment that combines period charm and contemporary functionality. The brief for the renovation involved modernising the property with high-quality materials, whilst enhancing the original period features, such as the high ceilings and beautiful bay windows.
Designer Furniche London has complemented the incredibly light apartment by introducing a neutral colour palette of off-whites, greys and soft earthy tones to provide a larger sense of space. Chosen for its sustainable credentials and high-quality materials, Havwoods’ Fendi 12 Prime engineered boards were the perfect solution to suit this contemporary aesthetic – adding plenty of texture and firmness underfoot.
A key part of this design was laying the flooring diagonally across the room to add width and length. Paired with the bright tones of the Fendi planks, the flooring adds plenty of interest to both the ground floor and first floor of the home, whilst successfully enhancing each room and helping it feel larger.
In the open-plan kitchen and living space, a mid-century modern style has been incorporated pairing curved accent pieces, abstract artwork, layered materials and dark-stained wood – which contrast beautifully against the lighter colour of the flooring. The Fendi Prime boards continue onto the first floor and into the modern farmhouse-style bedrooms, showcasing how adaptable and beautiful the planks are, no matter the setting.
