A stunning Victorian property in Hampstead, this family home has undergone a major transformation headed up by MW Architects. The brief was to restore and reintroduce the traditional period features of the house, while giving it a new lease of life with bold and innovative new materials.
Incorporating this on-trend floor design into a period property marries together the homeowners ‘requirements for old meets new. The Herringbone design flows seamlessly from the entrance hall to the living room and dining area, adding warmth to the cooler tones of the interiors.
Showcasing the flexibility of the design and colourway, the flooring has been paired with a more minimalist, neutral scheme in the hallway, compared to a darker and more dramatic aesthetic in the living room. Across the upstairs landing and bedrooms, the Plank pattern accentuates the open feel of the home, pairing beautifully with the high ceilings and natural light which floods through from the large windows. In the bedroom, the subtleness of the planks contrast perfectly with the modern teal walls, evoking a tranquil environment to relax and unwind.
Prioritising a generous mix of colour and texture throughout the room, it allows for an immaculate neutral floor covering to complement the characterful design scheme.
