Experience light-filled living at Casa on White in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Cote Interiors revamped this Californian Bungalow into a family haven, blending modernity with natural charm. Vaulted ceilings and steel-framed doors flood the space with sunlight, while organic materials and Havwoods Venture Plank timber floors add warmth and durability.
Space, storage, and light. It’s rare for a home that can deliver all three, but Casa on White hits the golden trifecta. Located in Sydney's Northern Beaches, this existing Californian Bungalow was extended to accommodate the daily life of a family of four and their furry friend, Murphy.
Cote Interiors sought to make the house more suitable to modern family living by adding a light-drenched extension featuring an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, a walk-in pantry/laundry room, and ample storage.
Vaulting the ceiling was a decision made from the outset of the renovation. The once low and cramped back end of the house was transformed into a light, expansive, and incredibly inviting space.
In addition, the floor-to-ceiling steel frame doors maximise the natural light, seamlessly connecting the interior with the outdoor living area.
To bridge the old and new sections of the house, Cote Interiors opted for Havwoods Aspen Raw 13 from the Venture Plank range. “We wanted the floors to feel simultaneously modern while still having enough character to make sense in a period home,” Coco from Cote Interiors shares. With its blonde tone and natural grain and colour variations, this product fit the brief. Home to two boys and a dog, the UV oil finish withstands the realities of playtime, spills and scratches.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding trees and natural elements, the colour palette is a harmonious blend of whites, neutrals, greys and greens.
Complimenting the natural aesthetic, the use of organic materials, such as handmade tiles, natural stone, ceramic lights, aged metals, and Havwoods Venture Plank timber floors, adds warmth and character.
