The Potting Shed, Langley

The idyllic location of The Potting Shed, set deep in the Kentish countryside, was one that called for complete integration of the project into the surrounding area. The design brief required the project to ‘bring the outside in’, creating a rustic, country feel, with interiors inspired by Scandinavian influences.

Havwoods was able to answer this brief by providing exquisite materials for the flooring, walls and ceilings. By using reclaimed engineered oak wood flooring, pine rustic reclaimed solid pine cladding and rustic grey reclaimed solid pine cladding, Havwoods was able to bring the outdoors in, and add authentic character and charm to the restaurant and bar areas.

Having provided materials for floors, wall and ceiling, Havwoods has created an environment that is a completely immersive experience for the customer, that allows the design scheme to be coordinated and all-inclusive.

Now, The Potting Shed is a rustic restaurant that has been created in the unusual style of a potting shed with a grass roof and decorated with gardening tools, urns and hidden delights.

The high ‘A’ frame interior is inspired by Scandinavian architecture and gives a unique, open plan feel.

The big dining room, with its magnificent open kitchen, is vaulted with a wooden clad ceiling and opens onto a beautiful garden which boasts an amazing outside space with kids play area, as well as being host to a herb and vegetable garden.
