2025 Wall Surface Trends

4 Oct 2024

Beth Kendrick, Havwoods’ Product Category Manager, provides insights into some of the top wall surface trends to look out for in the new year including styles, colours, and textures.

When it comes to decorating, walls are one of the first areas to consider in terms of what colour, finish and overall look is desired for the scheme. At Havwoods we have continued the expansion of our wall surface offerings through this year, with a variety of stunning, dynamic, and long-lasting possibilities.

Trending terrazzo

‘Having started out its life in the 1970’s, the terrazzo trend has made a significant comeback in recent years and is expected to continue its momentum into 2025. With the application of Terrazzo in kitchens, on floors and in bathrooms becoming an increasingly popular choice; our new TreeAzzo collection will allow homeowners and designers to add dimension, colour and character to a room, improving the overall style and feel. Continuing to leave its impact on the modern world of home design; this trend is an excellent example of timeless aesthetics that will never go out of style’, Beth says.

Dopamine Décor

Beth continues: ‘Although neutrals remain popular, people are increasingly experimenting with brighter shades, with homeowners and designers incorporating more pops of colour into schemes. Known as the ‘Dopamine Décor’ trend, this approach focuses on creating an energising space that intensifies your overall mood and happiness levels through the use of colour. Creating an eye-catching feature in any room, our entire Simplista collection can be primed and painted; giving our clients the freedom to inject any colour as well as texture they desire into their interior space with ease.’

Fluted & reeded finishes

‘Fluted and reeded finishes will remain a prominent trend in the market with architects and designers frequently seeking out and specifying these types of designs. It’s a simple yet effective way of adding depth and individuality to a room and we are certain to see more homes and commercial spaces incorporate these finishes in 2025.

Perfect for use on cabinetry and furniture fronts, as well as on curved surfaces, our fluted Elegante collection is the ideal choice for those wanting to bring another dimension to interior spaces. Carefully milled, these veneers add elegance and interest to both vertical and horizontal spaces. Offering an array of colour options including a dramatic ebony or walnut, as well as classic oak or white oak, the possibilities for creating clean, bright finishes are limitless’, Beth explains.

Warm textures & depths

‘Seeking to create more peaceful and relaxing environments, end users and designers continue to incorporate more organic shapes, finishes and colours in their natural format into spaces. Inspiring emotions of serenity and calmness; the natural appearance of these surfaces allows people to feel more connected to nature, something that continues to be prevalent in both the residential and commercial sectors. From veneers to raw textures and organic finishes, all our collections can assist those looking to achieve a deeper level of warmth and texture in their schemes’, Beth says.

Natural wood in kitchens

‘The use of natural wood in kitchens is becoming increasingly popular, and natural

materials will undoubtedly continue to find their way into homes in 2025. Adding charm and a classic elegance to a kitchen whilst also increasing light and comfort in the room, people are embracing wood on all surfaces in the kitchen from floors and walls to cabinets and island fronts. Darker colours such as walnut are a popular choice for kitchen cabinetry, helping to add more drama to the space, whilst a combination of painted and wood cabinetry is also a popular choice for end-users and designers.’
