In conversation with Lyndsey Dyson

Tell us how your love for interiors started?

‘My love of interiors emanated from my grandmother who had, and still has, quite eclectic taste. Onyx goblets, wall cladding, and swags and tales was always the theme in her house. I spent most of my summer holidays changing my bedroom furniture around, decorating and running up a new pair of curtains on the sewing machine, and my grandmother was always on hand to help,’ Lyndsey remembers. 

‘Growing up I decided to follow my passion for interiors. Renovating houses lead me to do an interior design diploma, which further lead me to working for luxury home furniture brand in Knutsford, which helped me to get to know the town and its clientele. When the opportunity to work for the brand-new Havwoods Showroom in Knutsford came available I jumped at the chance.’

Having worked in the Havwoods showroom for a while now, how do you see wood flooring?

‘Ultimately, wood is the most sustainable way to cover your floors. The environment is so important to us and the future generations that why would you choose to cover your homes in plastic? Where is that going to eventually end up in? Also, here at Havwoods we have the most beautiful array of colours, designs and finishes to suit every taste and to compliment any interior,’ Lyndsey explains.

‘If I were to choose one of our floors for myself, I would probably go for the Notte in the Herringbone design, with the bronze opulence strip running along the edges.’
