About Anthony

Having worked at Pentagram, Threefold Architects, DSDHA and Brinkworth, Anthony comes with experience across a vast variety of sectors and scales. He set up Spare Part 3 wanting to help others understand how their career and practice-to-date relates to the profession at large. Beyond his professional experience, Anthony is a Part III Examiner and Lecturer at The Bartlett and The University of Westminster.

What made you start Spare Part 3?

‘As a tutor and examiner on many Part III courses, there is a clear correlation between successful candidates and those working in big practices. Spare Part 3 is a resource that was founded to offer a stronger starting position for those working in smaller practices, who perhaps don’t have the same in-house facilities or mentors who prioritise younger team members’ learning’, Anthony explains.

Who can benefit from Spare Part 3’s learning resources?

Anthony says: ‘Spare Part 3 learning resources are perfect for any architecture student who aspires to become an Architect in the United Kingdom! The primary focus is for candidates embarking on their Part III course, but for Part I and Part II Architectural Assistants, the learning resources offer early access to think about the role they play within the wider profession and get a head start on making their final examinations as easy as possible.’

Anthony continues: ‘This all comes in light of education reform in Architecture in the United Kingdom. Spare Part refers to the hope when it was founded for the Part III to become fully integrated into the earlier stages of education. We are on the cusp of seeing that happen and hopefully Spare Part will soon have more to offer younger students!
