“Havwoods was recommended by our client, as they have used Havwoods products in UK Nando’s locations. We ultimately chose them due to the product appearance and quality, in addition to the economical pricing” Aria Architects
We’re delighted to say that we’ve had a long relationship with Nando’s, resulting in our having supplied well over 200 of their restaurants around the world. So it seems appropriate that the first finished images to emerge from our new enterprise in North America are of Nando’s – one in Washington and one in Fairfax, Virginia. Both locations have been designed by Aria Architects of Chicago and draw inspiration from the colorful, bold patterns and woven goods associated with South African culture, but the Fairfax restaurant introduces corrugated metals and steel-framed furniture, reflecting the build environments of the South African townships, whilst in Washington the design intention was to stay true to the character of the building and utilise the two-story lighting sculpture as a focal feature. In both locations the designers’ aimed for a more refined look from the flooring, choosing dark wood floors with texture from our Henley range rather than rustic reclaimed boards.
