The home of human scientific ingenuity, the Science Museum in London is a world famous attraction, welcoming visitors from all across the globe. With over two years of planning involved, the recently launched Medicine Galleries at the museum is the largest of its kind in the world. The new gallery required a traditional, beautiful quality finish for its flooring using only the highest specification of products to impress visitors.
For the first floor gallery, featuring a 150 metre long space, Havwoods was able to supply the Caffe chevron board from its Italian collection. An engineered oak chevron, this board was selected for its clean grade with a clear finish, which resulted in a classic but clinical feel. The timber installation team was required to install over 47,000 individual pieces of timber, equivalent to 17.9 miles!
